Description
The long-awaited joint Commanderie de Bordeaux – Chevalier de Tastevin Dinner is now open for reservations. We will be holding this event at the Glencoe Club, following a very successful event held there last year by our Burgundian friends.
Each participant will be required to bring an exceptional bottle (a couple must bring two) of well-aged, ready-to-drink wines. For example, a first- or second-growth left bank of ten years or more, equivalent right bank or suitable Sauternes. Each table will have a wine captain assigned to coordinate your contribution to the table to accompany the 5-course dinner which will be designed to pair with both White and Red Burgundy, Red Bordeaux, and Sauternes.
Generally speaking, the Commandeurs bring Bordeaux but it will be modulated by what the table of eight have in their cellars (or are willing to purchase). Of course, our two wine groups have many overlapping members and it goes without saying that we all appreciate great wines, whether Bordeaux or Burgundy. The table wine captain will navigate these tantalizing waters to come up with the best combinations and ensure as equitable a contribution as possible.
Do not delay in booking. There is a maximum of 60 seats available for both groups. Members and first guest only until May 13th, at which point we will open to additional guests, space permitting.
